From Tuscany...

More about my weekend soon.

In the mean time, a friend who is traveling in Italy sent me this. Enjoy.

Hello from the beautiful countryside of Tuscany.

Well, last night, it was all about being spoiled rotten. We stayed at
this brand new spa hotel overlooking San Gimignano in Tuscany. Our view
from the room showed the patchwork countryside of olive groves,
vineyards, maple trees changing color, & red tiled rooftops. We started
with cappucinos & Italian beer just outside of the swimming pool area,
then moved up to our suite complete with luxurious linens, a jacuzzi
bathtub, & plush robes for everyone. Breakfast this morning was
spectacular, with scrumptious coldcuts & cheeses, a variety of breads,
jams & pate's, assorted juices, coffees & cappucinos, plus the more
traditional bacon, eggs, toast, fresh fruits & vegetables. Yum ... but
then we could all barely stay awake for the drive to Florence!

After a panoramic view of the city from Piazza Michelangelo, we changed
direction towards Pisa ... with many stops along the way at Italian
cycling shops & "Pelletterias" (Italian leather good stores). Our time
in Pisa coincided with dusk as the colors of the famous Leaning Tower
changed from the bright white marble with the oranges & reds of the
setting sun.

Tonight we are staying in a family hotel with a room overlooking the
Mediterranean Sea. Hopefully we'll get a chance to browse through some
of the Marina shops before leaving to make our way to Milan & the
Italian Lakes district of Lugano, Switzerland.

Must run ... munchie time! :)
